Friends,
Do you think it’s wise to raise taxes during a recession? That’s what the majority Democrats in Olympia just did to you, a decision that will slow our recovery and hurt job growth. We need leaders in the state capitol who actually believe in fiscal discipline.
State government doesn’t have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem. The Legislature goes through the same boom-and-bust cycle time and again, overspending during boom times and making massive cuts when the economy cools. We can craft a budget that’s affordable into the future, but that won’t happen until we send fresh leadership committed to sustainable state spending.
I am devoting myself over the next year to reaching out to voters; you may find me on your doorstep in 2010. I hope to hear your thoughts on improving state government and getting Washington back on track.
All the best,
